Hindu believe that there are three Supreme God. Lord Brahma the Creator, Lord Shiva the Destroyer and Re-creator and Lord Vishnu the Preserver. Vishnu symbolizes the all pervading protective aspect of the Supreme God, Brahman. However, according to Hindu mythology, Vishnu is reincarnated on earth from time to time, to destroy the evil in the world. Vishnu is often represented resting on the coiled serpent Shesha, with Vishnu's consort Lakshmi massaging his feet. Vishnu never sleeps and is the deity of Shanti, the peaceful mood. Vishnu does not however tolerate ego.
